2019年2月19日、まだ１ヶ月も立たない前に、冷たい雨の日に中継したとき、後ろに映っていたゾウ「媛（ひめ）」です。

今日も冷たい雨でした。
これは誰が悪いのでしょうか。

ゾウでしょうか。
人間によって、一生を搾取され、食べものや自由を支配されたゾウたちが悪いのでしょうか。
違うのは明らかです。

担当の飼育員の方々のみの責任でしょうか。
それも違うと思います。

とべ動物園の経営陣、決定権のある人々、ゾウを輸入した人々、ゾウを見たいと欲する観客、ゾウを取り巻くすべての人々にその責任があります。
もちろん、これまでゾウの心を無視し続けてきた私にも責任があります。

とべ動物園の田村千明園長は「事故のない楽しい動物園になるよう努める」と言っているそうです。
誰にとって楽しいのでしょう。
動物にとって楽しくないからこのような事故が起こることを認識していないのでしょうか。
アップしていませんが、とべ動物園は他にも多くの問題がある動物園です。

いつまでこんなことを続けるのでしょうか。
私たちは、動物園水族館に対する認識を根本から変えなければいけません。
動物園水族館は動物の収容所です。

悪しき収容所は閉鎖すべきです。

飼育員の方の回復をお祈りいたします。

Chie Tamura, director of the Tobe Zoo, says “try to become a fun zoo without accidents”.
Who is fun?
Do not you realize that such accidents happen because it is not fun for animals?
Although it is not up, Tōba zoo has many other problems.

We must change our perception of the zoo aquarium from the fundamentals.
