イルカ突き棒漁に関して共有します。
突き棒漁も、残酷な漁です。
手順は、
1 イルカは、船首が起こす波に乗るために、遊びに来ます。
2 漁師は、船首から飛び出た台に乗り、背中めがけて銛を突き刺します。
逃げるイルカを追いかけて行って刺す場合もあります。
3 銛先が外れ、体に食い込み、抜けません。
4 イルカは逃げようとしますが、力尽きて死にます。
銛に電気を流し、感電死させる場合もあります。すべてのイルカを電気を流して殺すのかは不明。
5 銛先につなげたロープに浮きをつけ、イルカを放置、ほかのイルカを追い銛を刺します。
6 この手順を繰り返し、最後に浮きと死んだイルカを回収する
獲物とされるのは、イルカ、カジキ。
かつてはマンボウも殺していました。
突きん棒の構造をイラストにしました。
*写真は、先日の東北調査で撮影した、岩手県の突き棒漁船と銛です。この漁船が、イルカを突いているかは不明。

太地町の入り口のオブジェは、親子のザトウクジラです。
太地町の道の駅でザトウクジラの肉が売っていました。
ザトウクジラは、胸びれと尾びれが大きく、優美なフォルムをしています。
自ら人間にも近づいてくることもあります。
ザトウクジラは捕獲対象種ではないため、混獲で死亡、あるいは殺された者と思われます。
2019年、日本におけるザトウクジラの混獲は8人。
うち、5人が殺され、3人が解放されています。
先日、太地町の定置網にザトウクジラが混獲された日、隣の串本町ではミンククジラが混獲され、翌日には遺体がスーパーで売られていました。
