福岡市動物園（同市中央区）に、アジアゾウ4頭を受け入れると発表した。導入は22年春の予定で雄1頭と雌3頭の計4頭。同園では5年ぶりとなる。
②ゾウはワシントン条約で商取引が禁止されており、今回の導入は、種の保存や繁殖を目的としたミャンマーとの共同研究という枠組み。
