看護師で３人の子育てをする大竹奈緒子さん＝同市垂水区＝と、シンガー・ソングライターのリピート山中さん＝同区＝が代表を務める市民団体「須磨水族園を考える会」は１０日、神戸・三宮周辺でパレード。スマスイを利用してきた約４０人が参加し、「入場料金が高い。市はもっと市民の声を聞いて」と訴えた。
同会はほかに、現行施設でも年平均約１１０万人を集客していることや、豊富な生き物を展示するなどの教育的な貢献を重視し「レジャー施設に特化した施設にする必要はない」と訴える。事業者の決定過程についても「市民に詳しい説明を」と求めている。２２日には市に署名を提出する構えだ。
久元喜造市長は２０日の定例会見で「大変悩ましい問題。今までと同じような料金で利用したい気持ちはよく分かる」としつつ「集客力がある施設の整備が課題。しっかり議論し手続きを進めたい」との姿勢だ。（神戸新聞NEXTより転載）
