サファリパークは広くて、一見良い環境のように見えます。
サファリパーク系収容所のゾーンは
1 サファリゾーン
2 動物園ゾーン（歩いて回る）
3 ふれあい体験ゾーン
に分かれているのが基本です。
その他、客には見えにくい場所に、バックヤード、繁殖場、傷病動物隔離場所等があり、重要な写真や動画が撮影できる場合もあります。
サファリパークにおいて、よく観察すべきポイントは、
1 バリア
特に電気柵。電気柵がどこで区切られているかが重要です。
漫然と見るとバリア自体が目に入りません。
少しよく見ると、壁や石垣、堀などがバリアだと認識します。
しかし本当のバリアは電気柵です。よく見ると狭い範囲で区切られており、出られないようになっています
電気柵は細いため客には意識されません。収容所はそれをよくわかっています。
バリア設置のコツは、その動物の生態を把握することで、最小限のバリアに止める。
また、客に意識されないように、背景に溶け込むように、死角に隠し、あるいは自然物に見せかけて設置することです。
